Our previous project was to establish a sustainable funding mechanism for tobacco control in two major provinces of Pakistan through getting government funds allocated for tobacco control by developing and approving projects (PC-1s) by provincial governments and revenue generation through enforcement of tobacco vend act (TVA), 1958. In this project technical support was provided to the provincial governments and funds allocated for tobacco control. Model of Tobacco smoke free Islamabad would have been replicated in the provinces through which revenue would be generated through the enforcement of TVA 1958. There have been 500,000 tobacco retailers in Pakistan through which Rs. 50 million could be generated annually.
